Simply Me
I wonder who she is,
Sometimes I think I know her,
And sometimes I wish I did,

She's broken down completely,
And she's fallen so far, Lying there hopeless,
With nothing but a broken heart,

She walks this road alone,
With no one at her side,
She wears a broken smile,
To cover the secrets she hides,

She erases all the memories,
And ignores the constant pain,
She silently awaits the day,
That she feels complete again,

No one can truly help her,
Her wounds are far too deep,
She lies to keep the secrets,
And cries to fall asleep,

Lying on the bathroom floor,
Trying not to drown,
She tries to stand and face her day,
Just to be pushed back down,

When she wakes up in the morning,
She paints away the tears,
She's ready for another day,
In her world of unknown fears,

They never really notice,
The hurt behind her eyes,
Once again she fools them all,
With just another sea of lies,

She cant stand to face the mirror,
For the girl she sees is weak,

She cant stand this any longer,
Because tears are all she sees,
You may ask how I know her,
Well cant you see,
That the girl in the mirror,

Is Simply Me.

I look at all these pictures,
A moment frozen in time forever.
and all I can think about are
    the times we spent together.

I know your waiting up there for me,
    And babe trust me,
we'll see each other again eventually.

These past weeks have been the hardest for me,
Not seeing your face is just killing me.
You always knew how to put a smile on my face,
And now its like I'm outta place.

Everywhere I go, every road I turn down,
There's always story with your name to be found.

You were a big part in so many people's lives,
You didn't deserve to pay that price.

I can’t really think of anything else to say,
Just promise me you'll always stay.
Stay with me when I'm doing   wrong,
and help me to always be strong.

I'll strive to be the person you were,
Strong, confident, and always so sure.

You taught me so much and  for that I'm thankful.
You came into my life and made me so faithful.
You'll always have a place in my heart,
So we'll never be far apart.

I'll Love you forever Emily Ann
and  I'll try to keep everything just how we planned.

Live Your Life

Live the life you’re given

Love the ones you have

Because before you know it

Your future will become your past

There’s no day like the present

Every moment is a gift

Open your eyes to the future

And love the way you live

People may not accept you

But if you believe in yourself

You will make your dreams come true

Without anyone else’s help

Things won’t always be perfect

Life won’t always be bright

People will love to watch you fall

You just have to stand up and fight

Accept the constant changes

Things won’t always go your way

Move on with your life

And just enjoy the day

You won’t be remembered for your style

Or the way you do your hair

People will remember you

By the face you choose to wear

So flash that smile

Hold your head up high

Make a difference

And change someone’s life

--Emily Ann DeBrine

So I woke up one morning
And thought about some things
How would it feel to be perfect
Like the way we live in dreams…

How would it feel to touch the sky
Without worries on our mind
What if we could just take off
Spread some wings and fly
What would the feeling be like
To touch the ones who have been taken away
Would it bring back happy moments
Or bring tears knowing we cant stay
What if we could bring them back
For one more day of bliss
Would we take the chance
Or let them just be missed
How would it feel to change our lives
And control every one of our paths
We would know which ones to take
And let the wrong ones pass
What if we could mend the broken
And stop souls from being hurt
We could save the world from sadness
And never have to face the worst
What if there were shortcuts
For every challenge we face
A way to get around them
So we wouldn’t feel ashamed
What if hearts were never broken
And tears never had to fall
What if we could forget the pain
And just let go of it all…

Life will never be perfect
I wouldn’t want it to change
But its on my mind
Every single day.

An angel named Emily,
came down from above;
Entering this world,
through her mother with Love.
Faced with massive challenges,
and time spent at great length;
Both learned that they could draw from their,
deep unfaltering strength.
Through tribulation and trial,
Good friends they became;
Just living their lives,
and Enjoying their game.
While struggling to hold,
up the cross that they bear;
still managed to grow,
from the burden they shared.
Then the Angel named Emily,
went back up above;
she's still honoring her mother,
having learned through her Love.
